SPF Investigation

Future scientists at work! I wonder if that is true.

So what did you learn by doing this? What was the purpose of this experiment and why do you have to complete the formal write-up? Did this answer your key question? Was this all about determining if higher SPF levels block or absorb more UV rays? Did it create more questions than it answered?

I’ve heard that some of you are struggling with making a graph. Use software to help you like Create-A-Graph; scientists don’t do graphs by hand they use computers! Here’s a simple graph I created:

  1. Boy you guys are really photogenic! It looks like you enjoyed the SPF Investigation but sometimes I wonder what you learn from doing them.

The write-ups were a struggle eventhough you had the lab reference sheet, located under class documents on the resources page:
    http://mysciencespace.com/documents/Lab%20Template.pdf
I tried to show how closely they match Ms Schneider’s worksheet you used last year, just a little more formal. We’ve got some work to do to get it up to the quality I know you are capable of — time and effort.

Remember now that you have completed the lab rubric, grading you lab, you can make changes to improve your grade and turn it back in this week.
