What do scientists do?

Well, in this picture, it looks like they hang out in a room with a bunch of equipment, drink coffee and talk. But on closer investigation students are getting an introduction to the Pacific Northwest Seismograph Network, an earthquake monitoring facility at the University of Washington. Click on the picture to take a tour of the facility and learn more about earthquakes.

Earthquakes happen all around the world, much more frequently than most people imagine. But because Earthquakes vary in strength (what we call magnitude) with most doing little to no damage, we tend not to pay much attention. Just to be on the safe side click here to see where the most recent earthquakes are occurring.

  1. well mr.grant since the 14th was a while back its quite a disappointment to acknowledge that no they wont write comments. but think of it this way at least you got people like me who are not afraid to face reality, and the reality is that noone’s going to comment unless asigned to do so.

  2. Ameena,thanks for stopping by.

You know it may not look like people are commenting but they actually have. They just placed their comments on other posts.

In fact over 100 different people have visited this site in the last 5 days alone. And they left close to 20 comments.
