As we continue to study the movement of plates around the Earth, I thought I’d give you another resource for more information. Click on the image below
Remember density — substances with greater density will always be below substances which are less dense. (as an example: continental crust is above oceanic crust).
Sea floor spreading around the mid Atlantic ridge, new ocean crust is forming so the rocks closest to the ridge are younger than those further away.
Reversing of the earth’s magnetic field was also recorded in the seafloor along these ridges helping support the theory of plate tectonics.
HI, Mr.Grant I like this page i never knew how much was really on it!I was wondering is this like where you’ll have the information for test, labs, ect. This seems really helpful and useful and i just wanted to know if it can be helpful and useful for more than just extra information.so,i can use this on tests and more. Thank You
hey mr. grant this is giselle and i read the plate tectonics article and learned that the lithosphere is actually a fluid mosaic of lots of irregular pieces or plates.

Is this what the test is going to be over?
Yes this is good information for the test.
hi mr. grant are there any bonus things or extra things we’ll need to know that may have not been mentioned in class being first period.
Let me think….

Thank You
the test was kinda hard/easy
Jasmine, glad you’re finding it helpful. There are lots of things here to help you study for tests and better understand what we are doing.
Besides this page there is the Home Study page which has links to class presentations, other sites and study materials for the FCAT.
So the p-wave moves faster through the rock than any other wave made by an earthquake?
omg i didnt kno that the fcat science was that hard maybe thats why u get mad at us if we gett off task?

I liked the pictures bye. -Martin
how come the core is so hot and burns threw the earths crust but then it goes back to rock but the rock is a soft surface.
Kane Lee,
